I have a 94 Dodge RAM 2500 w 5.9L gas engine w/52,000 miles and have never had any maintence done on it except for oil changes. When I pull up to a Stop sign the engine stalls. It starts easily and runs great. I''m getting appx 18-19 mpg on the highway. What is causing the truck to stall?

Optional Information:

It sounds like your idle air motor. It gives the engine computer the ability to control the idle speed. When it is working fine the computer sees the rpm dropping and sends a signal to the idle air motor, and it increases engine speed. This all happens very fast, so much so that you can't feel it when everything is working properly. Sometimes they are just very dirty other times they are bad.

Reply to DR. Hamman's Post: Where is the idle air motor located at? Can it be disassembled and cleaned or does it need replaced? If it can be cleaned where can I find information on how to do this?
